3 Places I Would Like To Work

Johnson and Johnson

Johnson and Johnson is a huge, global company that has had a lot of success for the past years.  It was started in 1886 by three brothers: Robert Wood Johnson, James Wood Johnson and Edward Mead Johnson in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  In 1888, they came out with an antiseptic wound treatment.  This helped to spread the practice of sterile surgery in the U.S, and around the world.

They were also the ones that came out with the first, first aid kits, that was initially supposed to be used to help railroad workers, but quickly became the standard tool in treating injuries.  In 1894, they became involved in the baby business and now make baby powder, lotion, and so much more.  I just really believe in Johnson and Johnson’s products and its role in society.  It started as a family business by three brothers, but quickly turned into something massive.

This is a company that I do not see being effected by our economic crisis.  For my future, I have to think long term and what companies will be around for years to come.  I would like to work in their public relations department to help maintain good relationships with current customers, as well as prospective customers.

BET

BET, which stands for Black Entertainment Television, is a television network which mainly targets young, Black-American audiences.  This network which was launched in 1980 comprises mainstream rap, and R&B music videos.  It also shows a lot of urban-orientated movies and series.  Even though this station targets a specific audience, it has a lot of information to offer as well as enjoyable entertainment.

On Sundays, BET always has segments of religious preaching as well as gospel music.  They always show educational movies for all ages and all colors.  They show movies that have to deal with civil rights activists like: Martin Luther King Jr, Coretta Scott King, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, and so much more.  They also have a BET nightly news program.

Personally, I would love to work as an assistant on BET’s 106&Park. BET’s 106&Park is a music video program that shows the top ten requested videos that the viewers selected.  I always watch that show every day religiously.  I even went to a live taping of the show three times, and I had the chance to meet different celebrities.  If I am going to be doing a job for the rest of my life, why not pick something that interests me?

Lowe’s Home Improvement

I don’t know if it is because I currently work for this company or because I believe it is vision, but I would love to work as a public relations employee for Lowe’s.  I want to help serve as a voice for that company and stride to keep a positive relationship with the clients.  Lowe’s is a huge home improvement business that affects a lot of contractors, plumbers, electricians, and construction workers.  If those people couldn’t find a place to shop to get their equipment, how could their business succeed?

Carl Buchan, the founder of Lowe’s, had a vision.  He wanted to create a national chain of hardware stores, dedicated to helping people improve the places they call home.  I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can speak for myself when I say a person’s house is their vessel.  It is the place we go to relax after a long day’s work.  I know for a fact that the ordinary person takes pride in their house.

Lowe’s is a company that helps people to build that dream home that they always wanted.  Lowe’s motto is, “Let’s Build Something Together.”  The key word in that motto is together.  As a country we should want to lend a helping hand to one another. I believe that Lowe’s does exactly what they say in their motto.  Recently President Obama visited Lowe’s in Paterson, New Jersey after we had a terrible hurricane.  That just goes to reassure customers that Lowe’s does indeed care.

Dead at 101

~Kelli-Ann Bailey Stewart 93, Proud Mother of Three and Beloved Wife~

Mrs Stewart was a very beloved woman.  At the age of 24, she opened up her own PR firm(Bailey Corporations INC) which was a huge success.  At 27, she was married to Diego Stewart , who would later become her number one supporter.  Kelli and Diego had three gorgeous children: Desirae Stewart, Diego Stewart Jr, and Shania Stewart.  At 31, Kelli opened up her own greeting card business called Stewart Greetings.  Stewart Greetings gave hallmark a run for their money and is now left in Desirae’s care to maintain and run as if her mother was still alive.  Kelli’s PR Firm will be left in the hands of her son Diego Jr, and daughter Shania.  Everytime we open a birthday card, anniversary card, get well soon card and so on, we will always remember Kelli-Ann’s words, as they linger in our hearts forever.
